Tiago Lemos
Tiago Lemos's story
Initially I didn’t plan to go into hospitality nor to work in a hotel, I hadn’t considered it, but with time, something made me want contact with people and to speak other languages, which I have always enjoyed; those were the most important things. Someone suggested I should be a research scientist because I was good at science, but that didn’t appeal. I went into tourism and did an internship in the ibis and I’ve been here ever since. I love what I do.
I love being in touch with all kind of clients and learning about new stories every day. We often have the opportunity to also share our stories, which is amazing, – connecting with our guests on another level.
The most difficult part of my job is doing several things at the same time, which for me is challenging and made me grow during those years working in Accor. But I relish the opportunity constantly to meet people and hear their stories. Every day I come home with a different tale to tell because of the people I meet at work.
I am proud of what I do and I like it when people recognise my good work. And I am proud of being a Heartist®, too, which is thinking about others, both colleagues and guests.
When you are new in hospitality, it is important to be patient and to make a difference to customers by being polite and helpful; spread love not hatred!
I feel myself at home here. We have a great team spirit and Accor makes you feel part of one, big family. Who knows what the future entails, but I’m sure that if I continue in Accor I know I will be very happy!
