Anaëlle Denys
Anaëlle Denys' story
Ten years ago, when I was studying tourism at school, I had three weeks of work experience in a hotel and I enjoyed it, so I travelled for a while and then applied for a job on reception. I also worked for a short time in a travel agency for five weeks but I preferred hospitality.
No two days are the same, so you never get bored, and I feel am doing something useful. Accor is like family, it is a very secure environment; it is also a well known brand.
I started in reception seven years ago and I am now head of reception; I am really proud of that. It is where we welcome customers to the hotel. We have asked them what they like about the property and our service, and the survey showed they are happy. My role in Accor has evolved and I am proud of what I am doing.
Being a Heartist® means doing things differently, with a personal touch, not just doing the job. It is also about keeping an open mind, being inclusive and thoughtful towards colleagues and clients, and working with passion.
I encourage newcomers to hospitality to do the job because they love it, not because it’s there; you won’t regret it if you are passionate; you will never get bored and you will do the job well. And a good career path at Accor gives you the chance to grow in the company.
