Yousra Grima

Yousra Grima's story

My career path pursued a straight line but it has been passionate! After obtaining my baccalaureate in 1998 in Tunis, I started to study sciences. But on arriving in France, I launched myself into a waitress role at Ollioules for four years and that’s where I discovered a passion for hospitality. It was not my first choice, but it has become a vocation!

My professional adventure has been rich and full of opportunities. After some years in operations, I decided to go into sales and management. However, the financial crisis of 2013 pushed me to rethink and I rediscovered restaurants, first as a chef in Lebanese restaurant. Then in 2016, I made the leap into hotels and room service.

I loved the idea of spending the morning pursuing my passion in order to sing about it in the evening! And little by little, thanks to my versatility, I developed through a variety of posts to become a receptionist and now, for nearly 10 years, a Heartist®.

Above all, I love the variety of my daily tasks and the ability to create memorable experiences for clients; every day is different in hospitality and each encounter is bathed in smiles.

Accor is for me a lovely family that shares strong values of being welcoming, respectful and collaborative. The sector allows each person to grow, to discover new sides to themselves and to evolve. I recommend this industry to those who love human contact and who are ready to take on new challenges with enthusiasm

To be a Heartist® is, above all else, to give the best of yourself every minute of the day. It is to live the values of hospitality with all your heart: to offer a warm welcome, to listen to others and always to seek to go beyond expectations to ensure each moment is special.

It also means to be a source of inspiration for my colleagues and to contribute to a kind and positive atmosphere.

I am particularly proud to have had the chance to grow at the heart of Accor and to move from one role to another thanks to my versatility and determination; and, of course, the moment when my director gave me the opportunity to become a reception was a great turning point in my career. It was a gesture of encouragement and confidence in me that touched me enormously.

Hospitality is first and foremost a team profession, so I advise new arrivals, do not hesitate to learn from your colleagues and to share your ideas with them. Remain passionate, flexible and, especially, be true to yourself. A heartfelt welcome and kindness make all the difference.
